Among the educated masses, a famous adage goes like this ― “vidyā bhāgavatāvadhi” i.e. Śrīmad Bhāgavatam is the final limit of all knowledge. From this it can be ascertained that Śrīmad Bhāgavatam is the internal secret essence of the Vedic scriptures. As a result of serving this scripture, a living entity gets the knowledge in the form of attaining the fifth puruṣārtha (i.e. Kṛṣṇa prema) in its palm. There is no higher education than the service of Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. It only contains the personified superiority and excellence. In the Muṇḍaka Upaniṣad it has been told that the ṛk, sāma, atharva and yajuḥ, śikṣa, kalpa, vyākaraṇa, nirukta, chanda and jyotiṣa, itihāsa and purāṇa etc come under aparā vidyā (mundane knowledge); and that through which the subject matter of Acyuta (lit. infallible; one of the names of the Supreme Lord) is followed is parā-vidyā (transcendental knowledge). The devotional knowledge which tells the spiritual self form of the Supreme Lord is the Īśvarī (Goddess) of the Śabda-brahma-nāmeśvara (Lord which is in the form of Holy Names, the sound incarnation of Absolute Truth).
